| This morning, we woke up to the sound of horse feet on the pavement below our luxerious hotel window. With the sun shinning on our faces and the warm fresh breeze cooling our toes, we were entirely relaxed and for a while, just enjoying the view over the city, as we dosed in and out of consciousness. Hunger eased us out of bed and we followed our noses to the BEST breakfast on the trip so far! We returned to the hotel room and I blogged while Carlin got the laundry and our bikes, and packed up our belongings. (What a man!) We left our hotel room around 11:00 and made the most of our ride to the Ferry, stopping to get a few last pictures and to see a few last sites. The Ferry took us from Quebec City to Levis. The winds were strong coming from the East so we decided to go West! Ha-ha. We rode several more crazy steep hills up to the City of Levis. Once the crazy mission was over, we needed to do something in Levis to justify the extra effort in the wrong direction... so we decided to... you guessed it... see a MOVIE! We got to the theater and the only English movie that was playing was The Expendables 2 - this might be the only circumstance where I would EVER pay to see a movie like this ~ (in other words... not a Debbie favourite). After exiting the theater it was close to 3pm, we were exhausted and we were tecnically -6km (ha-ha). We pushed onward into the wind and like always, we fell into a rhythm and made a decent distance of 80km before stopping for the night. We got into Montmagny as the sun was setting. It was cold and damp, one of those nights you dream of someone inviting you in for a shower, some soup and and blanket to snuggle in, while you watch a movie on their big screen! We warmed up in a modern café with some carrot soup and a smoked meat pizza! We pitched our tent on the edge of the St. Lawrence, beside the visitor center and zipped our sleeping bags up to keep warm! |
